Pay Jay Productions
Pay Jay Productions, Inc. was founded in 2001 by J Dilla to own and manage his intellectual property including uses of his name, image, likeness, life story, brand, and music rights, and continues to do these things as part of his estate. Pay Jay became the name of the Estate’s record label in 2013. The discography below represents Pay Jay’s official catalog, and each project was produced for release by the estate’s creative director Eothen “Egon” Alapatt.
Ruff Draft (Dilla's Mix) (2018)
Dilla’s personal mix of the Ruff Draft EP presented as a full album. Dilla’s mix was uncovered after Egon produced the Stones Throw Records reissue with new mixes by Davey Cooley from Dilla’s multi-track sessions. This definitive version of Ruff Draft hews to Dilla’s original vision for the project, and includes all unreleased tracks and instrumentals.
